The Kid Institute of Technology LLC was founded by Rick Lyons to bring the Bits Bytes & Bots program to the Portland metro area.

Rick Lyons has been an engineer working in automated systems for more than eighteen years. developing systems anywhere from putting cookies into their bags, moving huge rolls of film around in the dark, building wire harness systems for aircraft or developing machines to process silicon wafers for computer chip manufacturing. In addition to engineering Rick is also a passionate teacher. Aside from training clients on the automation systems he has been developing, Rick is a highly accomplished snowsports instructor, teaching kids and adults for more than twenty-five years.

The Kid Institute of Technology cares about your child’s safety first and foremost. We employ the most stringent national background checks before a potential teacher is hired and continue to check on teachers throughout their tenure with us. We hire the best teachers who have experience with children, an aptitude for technology, and who share our philosophy that the best way to learn is through FUN!
